Ombré brows is a semi-permanent makeup technique that creates a gradient effect on the eyebrows, transitioning from a lighter color at the front to a darker color at the tail. The process is done using a small tattoo machine or a manual tool to deposit pigment into the skin. The result is a soft, powdered look, often described as a makeup-like finish, which makes the eyebrows appear fuller and more defined. Ombré brows are typically low-maintenance and last for about 1-3 years, depending on skin type and aftercare.
A 6-8 week touch-up for ombré brows is common to ensure the best results and to refine the initial application. During this touch-up appointment, the artist will assess how the pigment has settled into the skin and make any necessary adjustments. The touch-up can involve adding more pigment to areas where it may have faded, refining the shape, or darkening certain parts of the brows to achieve the perfect gradient. It’s important to go to the touch-up session to ensure the brows last longer and maintain their desired look.
After the touch-up, your ombré brows should last for about 1-2 years before requiring another session depending on skin type and aftercare.
Some people may need an ombré brows touch-up between 9 to 12 weeks, depending on how their skin heals and how well the pigment has retained. The 6-8 week touch-up is typically recommended for optimal results, but if the pigment has faded less than expected or if the healing process requires more time, a touch-up within the 9-12 week window is still common and effective.
In this session, the artist will again assess the shape and color, making adjustments to any areas that need more definition or color to keep your brows looking fresh. This timing also allows enough healing time for the skin to settle and for the artist to work with your natural brow growth.
