A telemedicine acute care visit is a virtual appointment with a medical provider to evaluate and treat new or sudden health concerns without coming into the clinic. Your provider will review your symptoms, discuss your medical history, and may recommend treatment, prescribe medication, or advise if an in-person visit is needed.
These visits are appropriate for many non-emergency concerns, including: • Cold or flu symptoms • Sinus infection or sore throat • Cough or fever • Urinary tract infection (UTI) symptoms • Rashes or skin concerns • Allergies • Pink eye • Mild asthma symptoms • Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea • Minor infections or medication questions
Telemedicine visits are not appropriate for emergencies. If you are experiencing symptoms such as chest pain, severe difficulty breathing, signs of stroke, uncontrolled bleeding, or loss of consciousness, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department immediately.
